Apologies to everyone re: the cancellation of the Foundation/ KS1 Sports Day today. Unfortunately, the weekend showers and overnight rain, along with the dank conditions this morning rendered the field unusable. Rain was also forecast from 9.00am. In the end, the rain arrived slightly later - but there had been no warmth in the air to offer any drying out for the field.
In order to support everyone's arrangements as best we could, we had to make the call as early in the day as was possible.
It will not be possible to re-arrange the Sports due to the end of year calendar.... and the weather forecast for the remainder of the week remains bleak. Using the playground for Sports events is not a safe enough option.
It is an enormous source of frustration that we have had to cancel F/KS1 Sports Day this year. Let's hope
a. for an Indian Summer - perhaps the Sports Day could be held in September/ October (!)
b. a summer next year.
